Rolf Sommer heads the WWF Department of Agriculture and Land-Use since 2019. He holds a degree in biology and a doctorate in agricultural science. Over the past 20 years he has led a wide range of international research projects on sustainable agriculture and soil fertility in Latin America, Africa and Asia. He has published numerous papers on agriculture & climate change, greenhouse gas emissions from agriculture, and carbon sequestration in soils.
