Gerd Schonder is 45 years old, trained farmer, married, has 4 children. After studying agricultural economics in Nürtingen, he and two colleagues founded the Betriebsgemeinschaft Neuhof in 2002. The conventional arable farm has grown to 13 shareholders in recent years and cultivates 2200 hectares of arable land in northern Baden-Württemberg. For several years he has been dealing with alternative forms of cultivation between organic and conventional. A special focus is on production-integrated projects for the promotion of bees, insects and biodiversity.
