Dr. Markus Nießen is a molecular biologist and the grouplead of the molecular technologies department of KWS SAAT SE & Co. KGaA.
Since 2011 he is working with KWS and was involved in several projects in the area of enabling technologies and new breeding technologies. Since 2016 he is heading the group of molecular technologies.
Previously, he studied biology at RWTH Aachen and worked as a PostDoc at Leibniz University Hannover. During that time the research focus was on plant photosynthesis and photorespiration with a focus on yield improvement. Parts of this work have been done in BMBF funded project or cooperation’s with BAYER.
