Tobias Fallmeier studied agriculture and agribusiness and is managing director of cropspot, an AgTech start-up founded in April 2019 in Hamburg. With eight years of experience in the grain and oilseed trade, he knows the needs of the agricultural market and knows how to analyse trade flows as well as stock market prices on the Matif. The day-to-day business showed him where inefficiencies lie, where the farmer can improve his marketing and procurement and in what way the trade can optimise its cost structure. Therefore, the motivation to create a trading platform for agricultural commodities was as obvious as it was indispensable for him. He did not want to leave unused the possibility of actively shaping the future of German agriculture and its value chain by means of an innovative, modern and uncomplicated solution.
