Landwirtschaftliche Rentenbank is the German development bank for agriculture and rural areas. As part of its public mandate, it promotes agricultural projects through low-interest financing, which it allocates competitively neutrally via its principal banks. It refinances banks, savings banks and local authorities with a link to rural areas. The appropriation of profits is also subject to the development mandate. The Bank is a federal institution under public law whose capital stock was raised by the agriculture and forestry of the Federal Republic of Germany. The development bank is one of the few triple-A addresses in Germany and refinances itself on the financial markets.
